Driade Roly Poly decorative armchair

Driade Roly Poly is the monobloc design armchair created by Faye Toogood for Driade, launched in 2014 as part of the Assemblage 4 project. Its smooth, coiled and voluptuous form was inspired by motherhood, featuring a deep bowl-shaped seat, cylindrical legs and soft lines that give the piece a simultaneously massive and organic appearance. Made from rotationally moulded polyethylene, it measures 84 cm in width, 57 cm in depth and 63 cm in height, with a seat height of 32 cm.

The Roly Poly is an exceptionally versatile armchair, equally at home in a living room setting and in outdoor spaces, thanks to the weather resistance of polyethylene. It is available in a range of playful and original finishes; the black version is made from fully recycled polyethylene, reflecting a genuine commitment to sustainability. The seat can be complemented with padded cushions — available separately — in Cotton Cairo, Linen Barcellona or Acrylic Cipro (the latter also suitable for outdoor use), all of which nestle perfectly into the curved form of the shell. Selected examples of this armchair are now part of the permanent collections of major international museums, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Denver Art Museum and the National Gallery of Victoria, confirming its status as an icon of contemporary design.
