DCW Mantis BS1 B floor lamp

DCW Mantis BS1 B is a design floor lamp created by designer Bernard Schottlander in 1951, produced by DCW and inspired by the dynamism of Alexander Calder's sculptures. Its silhouette evokes a praying mantis hovering in mid-air: the curved, elongated diffuser, the slender central rod and the signature counterweight create a perfectly balanced composition that is both poetic and precise, entirely crafted in aluminium and steel with a matte black finish. The ultra-thin frame is produced using rotational moulding, expressing an interplay between symmetry and asymmetry through a helical movement.

Ideal for the living room or the bedroom, Mantis BS1 B suits reading corners, relaxation areas with armchairs, dining rooms and hospitality settings. The lamp is adjustable horizontally through 360° and vertically across 4 positions of 20°, offering complete flexibility in directing the light. The E14 lampholder accepts LED sources up to 15W, with an input voltage of 220-240V and an IP20 protection rating for indoor use. The lamp is not dimmable and features an inline switch on the 2.1 m black cable. The E14 LED bulb is not included. Dimensions: maximum height 1650 mm, base diameter 290 mm.
