Created in 1984, Scrittura Illeggibile di un popolo sconosciuto reflects Bruno Munari’s fascination with visual language and the aesthetic power of signs. The work originates from the observation of written forms that, even when unreadable, reveal their own beauty through rhythm, structure and graphic balance.

Munari transforms fragments of imaginary writing into a visual composition where symbols function not as linguistic elements but as purely graphic forms. The arrangement of vertical strips and abstract characters evokes the appearance of an ancient or unknown script, inviting the viewer to appreciate the expressive quality of signs beyond their literal meaning.

The artwork is available in two versions: Ochre and White, each emphasising different chromatic relationships while maintaining the same conceptual structure. Both prints belong to the Art Editions collection produced by Danese Milano.
