Danese Milano La Volpe silkscreen print

Designed by Enzo Mari in 1965 and reprinted in 2021, La Volpe is a silkscreen print that belongs to the famous Nature Series. The series stems from iconographic research developed by Mari in the early 1960s for the characters of the educational project Gioco delle Favole.

Each animal in the series is the result of an in-depth formal study aimed at obtaining an essential and emblematic image. Through the reduction of shapes and colors, Mari created a visual language capable of transforming natural subjects into clear and recognizable signs, forming a coherent alphabet of simplified graphic symbols.

The fox becomes an evocative and expressive figure, where minimal lines and flat colors define its posture and character. The work reflects Mari's rigorous approach to design, combining clarity, educational intent, and visual immediacy.

This reissue continues the rediscovery of Mari's iconic subjects, originally conceived as part of an educational and visual storytelling system, and now presented as independent graphic works within the Art Editions collection.
