Danese Milano Fruit Bowl No. 10 fruit bowl

Designed between 2010 and 2017, Fruit Bowl No. 10 by Ron Gilad plays with contemporary symbolism, transforming the image of the cross into a functional object. The project questions the very meaning of the container, shifting it from a purely utilitarian element to a conceptual and visual statement.

Carved from solid beech wood, the piece balances irony and rigor. When placed horizontally, it becomes a fruit bowl where the arms of the cross define and support the composition of the objects. When hung vertically, it transforms into a sculptural wall presence, emphasizing its graphic outline and symbolic strength.

Minimal yet expressive, Fruit Bowl No. 10 reflects Gilad’s approach to design: essential forms, intellectual provocation, and a subtle dialogue between function and meaning.
