Designed by Bruno Munari in 1959, Carta della Luna is a silkscreen print that reproduces the surface of the Moon with remarkable geographical accuracy. The work reflects Munari's interest in scientific observation and visual representation, transforming a lunar map into an evocative work of graphic art.

The print is made on black bookbinding canvas, to which a deep black background is first applied and then overprinted with four additional colours that form the lunar image. The final composition reveals a refined chromatic balance of silver grey, white and two soft shades of pink that highlight the craters and textures of the lunar surface.
