Description

Designed by Enzo Mari in 1957 for Danese Milano, 16 Animals is one of the best-known examples of educational design applied to design. Made of solid oak, this puzzle consists of sixteen animal shapes cut from a single board, with a single cut determining their shape and how they fit together. Each element can be removed from the mother structure and arranged freely, transforming the game into a creative and spatial experience. The object combines the idea of educational play with a high level of formal and constructive rigour, becoming both a tool and a piece of furniture.
