Diffusione Luce offers a complete range of constant voltage electronic drivers for LED applications. Professional drivers designed to power LED strips, LED modules, and decorative lighting systems with maximum stability, ensuring consistent performance, long lifespan, and full compatibility with the main types of LED products on the market.
Constant voltage drivers are available in the standard voltages of 12V, 24V, and 48V DC, the most widely used in the decorative LED lighting sector. The 12V voltage is the classic choice for short LED strips and residential installations; 24V is today the most widely adopted standard, as it allows powering longer runs with lower voltage drops; 48V is reserved for professional applications and installations with extended linear development.
To choose the correct constant voltage driver, follow two simple steps:
1. Check the operating voltage of the installed LED strip or module (12V, 24V, or 48V) and select a driver with the same output voltage.
2. Calculate the total power consumption in watts by multiplying the power per meter of the LED strip by the total installed length, and add a 20% safety margin.
Practical example: an LED strip rated 14.4W per meter at 24V, installed for a length of 5 meters, consumes 14.4 × 5 = 72W total. Adding the 20% safety margin, you will need a driver with a nominal power of at least 86.4W at 24V — in practice, a 100W or 120W model.
Unlike constant current drivers, constant voltage drivers keep the output voltage fixed and adjust the delivered current based on the connected load. They are therefore ideal for LED strips and modules that already integrate current-limiting resistors within them. Multiple LED strips can be connected in parallel on the same driver, provided that the sum of their powers remains within the driver's nominal power.
For outdoor installations, Mean Well electronic drivers with IP65 and IP67 protection ratings are available, certified to withstand dust, water jets, and temporary immersion. They are the ideal solution for outdoor LED strips, architectural facade lighting, recessed floor profiles, pool edges, gazebos, and pergolas, as well as for applications in humid environments such as bathrooms, professional kitchens, and industrial areas.
Dimmable constant voltage drivers are also available in TRIAC, 0-10V, DALI, and PWM versions, for integration with home automation systems, custom lighting scenarios, or simple brightness adjustment through wall dimmers. These models allow brightness control without the need for external control units, simplifying the installation and reducing setup costs.
Mean Well has been the international reference point for decades for those seeking professional-quality constant voltage LED drivers. Mean Well products are certified according to the main international standards (CE, TÜV, UL, CB, RoHS), offer complete protection against overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, and overtemperature, and are covered by extended warranties that testify to their construction reliability.
