Cappellini POH patchwork Oval Hemisphere bench

The POH (Patchwork Oval Hemisphere) is a bench by Cappellini, measuring W 233 × D 50 × H 34 cm, designed to double as a low table as well as a seat.

Designed by Raphael Navot, the POH bench is built from a patchwork of wood blocks clad in solid, natural American walnut, hand-assembled at random and then carved by a CNC machine following a digitally generated pattern. This process makes every piece truly unique, sold in a numbered edition: no two are alike. The result is an object deliberately without a clear definition, somewhere between a table, a bench and a sculpture in its own right, reversing the principle that form follows function into one where function follows form instead. Navot, born in Jerusalem in 1977 and trained at the Design Academy Eindhoven, lives and works in Paris.
