Cappellini Knotted Chair armchair

Knotted Chair is the armchair by Cappellini, designed by Marcel Wanders: a grown-up, playful take on dollhouse chairs, measuring W 53 × D 64 × H 69 cm.

The macramé knotting technique is the starting point for the structure, made of carbon fibre coated in aramid fibre and then hardened with epoxy resin, blurring the line between craftsmanship and industrial production. The project is signed by Marcel Wanders and has earned a place in the permanent collections of MoMA in New York, the V&A Museum in London and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. The result is a piece of art to keep at home, a collectible that keeps its romantic soul intact while becoming part of everyday life.
