Cappellini Bookshelf bookcase

Bookshelf is the double-sided bookcase by Cappellini, built from matte-lacquered white panels arranged as a single module. Its compartments are all sized differently, following the idea that every object needs a space proportioned to its own dimensions.

Designed by Shiro Kuramata, Bookshelf pairs extreme visual lightness with a distinct solidity. The module works as a standalone piece, almost sculptural, or can be repeated in sequence to form a continuous bookcase, becoming a room divider that lets light and air pass through.
