Astep Model 537 LED Table Lamp in Brass for Indoor

The Model 537 table lamp, first made in 1950, is an exceptional fixture that shows the virtuosity of Gino Sarfatti. In its refined simplicity, the lamp stands out for the combination of precious materials and a playful but ingenious design. The large aluminum reflector (available in white or black) is mounted asymmetrically on a lacquered or brushed brass stem, which is carefully twisted into a beautiful game of balance, resting on an elegant marble base. As a vital part of the design, the stem extends through the reflector and beyond, in a backward motion giving the top of the stem a dual function: a playful element and a practical grip.

While the "handle" has become a frequent feature in today's designs, Gino Sarfatti was clearly ahead of his time. Making light portable was one of the visions of the great Italian master. The Model 537 is easily carried by hand from the home office desk to the living room, bedroom or any other environment that requires diffused light with an extraordinary design.
