Astep Model 238/2 wall lamp

Astep Model 238/2 is the two-light wall lamp from the Le Sfere collection, originally designed by Gino Sarfatti in 1959 and reissued in 2018 in new versions. Inspired by the sky and luminous bodies — and by the moon above all, a recurring presence in Sarfatti's work and life — this wall light features blown opal glass sphere diffusers held by a graphic steel ring. Sphere and ring embrace each other in an elegant and distinctive aesthetic, expressing the genius of Italian design through a form that is deceptively simple yet deeply refined.

Thanks to its versatility, Model 238/2 suits a wide variety of settings, from classic to contemporary interiors: it is an ideal choice for the living room, the bedroom — including bedside placement — as well as hallways and entrances. The 2700 K colour temperature delivers a warm, enveloping light that fully captures the lunar atmosphere Sarfatti envisioned. Each sphere can be tilted downwards or upwards to provide direct or indirect light emission, thanks to a small cutout in the ring that allows the diffuser to be rotated and repositioned. The LED E27 light sources, with a maximum power of 60 W and a luminous flux of 1612 lm, are included. The lamp supports a universal input voltage of 100–240 V, making it compatible with EU, USA, UK, Australia and Japan standards, and is rated for indoor use at IP20. Overall dimensions are 450×320×210 mm. The Model 237/2, featuring smaller-diameter diffusers, is also available within the same product family.
