Artemide Vitruvio suspension lamp

Artemide Vitruvio is a suspension lamp designed by Atelier Oï for Artemide, in which mechanical intelligence becomes a pure aesthetic expression. At the heart of the project is an ingenious mechanism inspired by watchmaking: three movable metal rods are inserted inside the blown glass diffuser, opening within it to form the supporting structure of the globe through the extreme precision of its geometry and the balance of its weights. The steel and aluminium structure and the glass diffuser are two independent elements, locked together by a simple and easily reversible mechanical gesture, requiring no screws or additional accessories.

The diffuser itself also unites aesthetics and function: the transparent glass is blown into a shape dictated by optical intelligence, while the horizontal lines in relief prevent direct view of the light source, reducing glare and ensuring a diffused, comfortable light emission. The lamp is equipped with a 21 W LED source with an E26-E27 lampholder — bulb not included — and is dimmable, allowing the light intensity to be adjusted to different needs. A CRI80 colour rendering index ensures natural and pleasant colour reproduction. With a diffuser diameter of 400 mm and a total height of 960 mm, Vitruvio is designed for indoor use with IP20 protection, and is compatible with voltages from 100–240 V for use across Europe, the USA, Australia, the UK and Japan. The canopy is included. The lamp is available in two finishes: brass structure with transparent diffuser, or black structure with fumè diffuser. Elegant and versatile, Vitruvio integrates effortlessly into the living room as well as the bedroom, bringing to every space the distinctive poetics of Atelier Oï, capable of combining materials, visions and technologies into a project of rare coherence.
