Artemide Takku battery lamp

Artemide Takku is a portable battery-powered lamp born from the collaboration between Artemide and Foster + Partners, launched at Milan Design Week 2021. Its structure features an extruded aluminium stem housing a single integrated 2.5 W LED and a rechargeable power source, while the shaped aluminium head encloses a diffuser that distributes light evenly around the stem, creating an ethereal and floating aesthetic. The weighted base provides stability and a refined tactile quality, completing a design defined by formal precision and elegant minimalism.

Thanks to its wireless nature and complete freedom from cables during use, Takku adapts effortlessly to both residential and hospitality settings, from the living room to the bedroom, and even dynamic outdoor environments. The light is adjustable across 3 brightness levels via a discreet button on the stem: at 25% intensity, battery life reaches 32 hours; at 55% it provides 16 hours; and at full power, 8 hours of continuous use. Recharging is via the included USB-C cable, with a power supply compatible with voltages from 100 to 240 V for universal use across Europe, Australia, the USA, the UK and Japan. Available in a range of anodized and painted finishes, Takku suits a wide variety of settings and moods. As the designers themselves explained, the name draws from the Japanese word for "pin": "The name Takku comes from the Japanese word used for a pin or push pin. In addition to inferring its shape, it also alludes to its inherent portability, like a pin used to temporarily fix notes to a surface.
