Artemide Shogun Historic Adjustable Table Lamp

Artemide Shogun is a historic table lamp designed in 1968 by Swiss architect Mario Botta, and now part of the iconic Artemide Master'Pieces collection. Permanently exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Shogun has become a timeless icon of Italian design. The lamp features a painted metal stem and two adjustable diffusers in perforated plate steel, finished in black and white for the base and white for the diffusers, with a total height of 595 mm and a base diameter of 120 mm. The rigorous geometry and formal sobriety directly echo the architectural language of its creator: mastery of light, a balance between richness and simplicity, and purity of form.

The perforated steel structure casts captivating plays of light and shadow on surrounding surfaces, making Shogun a strikingly beautiful object even when switched off.
