Artemide Patroclo table lamp

Artemide Patroclo is a table lamp designed by architect and designer Gae Aulenti in 1975 and produced by Artemide. An extraordinarily original luminous object, Patroclo is distinguished by its transparent blown glass body, partially enclosed within a rhomboidal metal mesh obtained by welding steel wires resistant to heat: the glass is blown directly into the metal cage, resulting in a uniquely faceted surface. This artisanal technique gives the lamp a dual nature, sculptural and luminous at once, making it a landmark piece of Italian design that retains a powerful visual presence to this day.

Patroclo is conceived to interact directly with the space around it: the faceted glass casts a distinctive luminous texture onto walls and ceiling, creating warm, enveloping atmospheres. It is an ideal choice for the living room or the bedroom, where its diffused light emission contributes to intimate and aesthetically refined environments. The lamp is compatible with LED or halogen light sources with an E26/E27 socket, up to a maximum of 77 W, with bulb not included. The colour temperature of 2900 K delivers a warm, soft light perfectly aligned with the sensory character of the design. The lamp is also dimmable, allowing light intensity to be adjusted as desired, and features an integrated switch. With a height of 450 mm and a width of 500 mm, Patroclo sits elegantly on any surface without overwhelming the space, inevitably becoming its visual centrepiece. The IP20 protection rating and insulation class II ensure safe use in indoor environments, with universal 100–240 V input voltage.
