Artemide Mendori table lamp

Artemide Mendori is an LED table lamp from the Artemide IN-EI collection, designed by the renowned stylist Issey Miyake in collaboration with the studio Reality Lab. The lampshade is crafted from recycled PET — a fibre obtained from plastic bottles with a texture reminiscent of paper — and features a three-dimensional, foldable and modular form with no internal structure whatsoever. Thanks to an exclusive treatment, the lampshade retains its shape perfectly whether open or folded, combining the lightness of paper with remarkable material resilience.

The name "IN-EI" means shadow, nuance in Japanese: Mendori interprets this concept through a beautiful interplay of light and shadow generated by the varying thicknesses of the PET material, creating a warm, delicate and almost living light effect. This lamp is perfectly suited for the living room or the bedroom, where diffused light quality contributes to a refined and intimate atmosphere. The light source is an 8 W LED, with a colour temperature of 3000 K (warm light) and a luminous flux of 425 lumens. The emission is diffused, the lamp is dimmable thanks to the integrated driver, and the cable is in transparent plastic with a switch included. Dimensions are 500 mm wide by 487 mm tall, the protection rating is IP20, and the compatible voltage covers EU, AUD, USA, UK and JAP standards (100–240 V). The IN-EI collection is a Compasso d'Oro winner and recipient of the iF Product Design Award 2013, accolades that testify to the outstanding design excellence and aesthetic value of this unique piece within the world of design lighting.
