Designer: Angelo Mangiarotti (1966) - Artemide Masterpieces Collection
The Lesbo table lamp was designed by Angelo Mangiarotti for Artemide in 1966 and represents one of the symbols of Made in Italy design of the 70s. The project combines some recurring themes in the designer's work: the skilful use of glass and the sculptural mushroom shape. Lesbo consists of a very simple annular aluminum base that supports the diffuser, made of blown Murano glass. The white surface of the diffuser has a suitably shaded gradation that allows to hide the light source and at the same time helps to direct the beam upwards. The effect is perfect for an atmosphere lamp, with the emission of a soft light that enhances the material characteristics of the glass. The lamp has an E27 lamp holder that allows the use of halogen bulbs up to 77W or LED DIM 15W, not included.
