Artemide Falkland 165 led Suspension Lamp in Filanca

Artemide Falkland 165 is an extraordinary designer suspension lamp, an icon of Italian design created by Bruno Munari in 1964 and manufactured by Artemide. Its shape originates from the tension of a white filanca fabric tube and the weight of seven aluminum rings of different diameters: a spontaneous silhouette, generated solely by the tension of the internal forces that compose it, evoking the organic form of a cocoon. An aluminum reflector, carefully shaped to follow the curves of the fabric, completes the structure with formal and functional coherence. Simplicity, efficiency, minimum storage footprint and maximum formal expression: these are the principles that Munari himself considered indispensable for good design, and that Falkland 165 embodies with rare completeness.

The Falkland 165 is far more than a visually striking decorative object: the filanca fabric acts as a natural filter, producing a soft, diffused light that gently envelops the surrounding environment. The light source, fitted with an E26/E27 lampholder, is compatible with a dimmable 8W LED bulb — the recommended option for maximum energy efficiency — or a 77W halogen bulb. The dimmer function allows the light intensity to be adjusted to suit the desired atmosphere. The base diameter is 400 mm, the maximum height reaches 2000 mm, and the protection rating is IP20, suitable for indoor use. The bulb is not included. The package contains the electrical part and the filanca fabric with aluminum rings, identified respectively by codes DS2040RIF and DS2040CRC.
