Artemide Eggboard Matrix suspension lamp

Artemide Eggboard Matrix is a suspension lamp by Artemide Architectural, designed by Progetto CMR – Giacobone & Roj, combining lighting and acoustic control in a single architectural element. Its body features a distinctive sinusoidal cross-section crafted from sound-absorbing material, designed to reduce reverberation and trap sound waves, improving overall acoustic comfort with particular focus on optimising speech frequencies. The double-sided structure reflects light through the white inner felt, while the diffuser partially shields the central emitting surface, producing direct and indirect light simultaneously — diffused and consistently uniform throughout the space.

The internal mixing chamber and high-transmittance optical diffuser make Eggboard Matrix a comfortable, glare-free lighting solution, achieving a UGR below 19 — an essential quality for demanding work environments. The integrated LED source, non-replaceable, operates at 220–240 V with a colour temperature of 3000 K (warm white) and a CRI of 90, ensuring faithful and natural colour rendering. The luminaire is DALI dimmable with APP compatibility (kit supplied separately) and carries an IP20 rating for indoor installations. The suspension height is adjustable from a minimum of 500 mm to a maximum of 2000 mm. Two sizes are available: the Small version, with a square 795×795 mm diffuser, delivers 46 W and a luminous flux of 4705 lm; the Large version, with a rectangular 1595×795 mm diffuser, reaches 89 W and 9268 lm, suited to larger surfaces. Eggboard Matrix is a natural fit for spaces such as the office or the living room, where the quality of both light and acoustics contributes to a genuine sense of well-being. On request, the luminaire is available with a neutral 4000 K colour temperature, direct-only light emission, or without a light source.
