Artemide Castore suspension lamp

Artemide Castore is a suspension lamp with a spherical silhouette, designed by Michele De Lucchi and Huub Ubbens for Artemide. Its white blown glass diffuser, characterised by soft and clean lines, is enhanced by a load-bearing stem that serves as an essential luminous conduit, allowing light to fade gently into the shadow area of the globe and produce a soft, diffused light emission. Compatible with LED light sources, the lamp operates at 220–240 V, carries an IP20 rating for indoor use, and is supplied complete with a ceiling canopy.

Conceived for residential, retail and hospitality settings alike, Castore brings a timeless yet contemporary character to a wide range of spaces. It is equally at home above a dining table in the living room, beside the bed in the bedroom, or over an island in the kitchen, whether used as a single light point or grouped in a multi-pendant composition for a more dramatic effect. The lamp is available in four sizes — Small 14, Medium 25, Large 35 and Extra Large 42 — each calibrated to suit spaces of different scales. Castore Small 14 takes an LED E14 source (max 5 W), features a Ø 14 cm diffuser and an adjustable height ranging from 35 to 200 cm; Castore Medium 25 moves to an LED E27 source (max 13 W), with a Ø 25 cm diffuser and height from 72 to 222 cm. Castore Large 35 also uses an LED E27 source (max 21 W), with a Ø 35 cm diffuser and height from 83 to 233 cm, while Castore Extra Large 42 — the most imposing version — offers a Ø 42 cm diffuser, the same LED E27 source rated at max 21 W, and an adjustable height from 99 to 249 cm for a truly striking visual presence. The suspension cable is adjustable across all versions. The lamp is dimmable only when used with compatible dimmable bulbs; the bulb is not included.
