Alessi KG01 salt and pepper grinder

Alessi KG01, designed by Konstantin Grcic, is a refined salt, pepper and spice grinder that celebrates industrial material in its purest form. Upright and sculptural, almost like a king on a chessboard, it is crafted from a high-precision machined block of aluminium, giving this everyday object a distinctive contemporary character and transforming it into a true design accessory. Its finely sandblasted surface adds an unexpected tactile quality while emphasising the material presence of the aluminium.

The design combines an essential synthesis of form and function: the transition from the cylindrical body to its distinctive octagonal profile naturally supports the twisting motion, making the grinder intuitive to use while defining its strong visual identity. KG01 measures 21.7 cm in height, with slender proportions that enhance its sculptural presence while remaining practical for everyday use.
