Alessi Cohncave centrepiece

Cohncace by Alessi is a centerpiece in steel colored with epoxy resin. Designer Susan Cohn has developed a sophisticated project where two overlapping nets create a moiré effect as light passes through, drawing inspiration from perforated furniture historically used for food storage.

The centerpiece combines formal simplicity with aesthetic research through the interplay of light and shadow generated by its structural layering. Available in two multicolor finishes — blue and ivory or red and purple — and in two sizes, 33 and 49 centimeters, it adapts to different compositional needs. The perforated steel mesh reveals its design complexity only when lit, transforming the centerpiece into an element that dialogues with the light of the surrounding environment.
