Description
The Clivo cutlery set by Alessi is a flatware collection in stainless steel 18/10 that draws inspiration from traditional Japanese bamboo kitchen utensils. The set is available in silver and embodies the carving gesture, where material is progressively removed to achieve the desired form.
The collection comprises six dinner spoons, six dinner forks, six dinner knives and six coffee spoons, the result of meticulous research conducted through hand-sculpted prototypes. Each piece reflects careful attention to detail, with the name itself—from the Latin clivus, meaning slope—referring to the modelling process that characterises the design. The set combines the functionality of contemporary flatware with proportions and volumes that dialogue with the essential geometry of traditional Oriental utensils.
