Driade Nemo decorative armchair

Driade Nemo is the decorative armchair designed by Fabio Novembre for Driade, unveiled for the first time at the Salone del Mobile 2010. This extraordinary design piece draws inspiration from ancient Greek statues, presenting itself as a face with classical features that conceals a functional seating element within. The name Nemo — evoking the Pixar fish, Jules Verne's Captain Nemo, and, further back in time, the fictional name used by Odysseus to deceive Polyphemus — becomes a mask used to conceal an identity, the poetic essence of the entire design concept. Produced as a single-block piece through rotational moulding in polyethylene, Nemo is a habitable sculpture that combines iconic power with outstanding construction quality.

The Nemo armchair stands out for its versatility and the wide range of available finishes: it is offered in white, black, red and grey in the moulded version, or painted in red, black and denim. Its dimensions — height 135 cm, width 90 cm, depth 83 cm with a seat height of 41 cm — make it a scenographic presence of great visual impact. It is available in the fixed version, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and in the 360° swivel version, designed exclusively for indoor use. Nemo is perfectly at home in a living room, in contract settings, and in cutting-edge interior design projects where the boundary between design and art becomes blurred. The armchair also appeared in the Netflix series Lupin, further confirming its iconic value beyond its functional purpose.
