Funivia Cable is the load-bearing cable of the Funivia lighting system by Artemide Architectural, designed by Carlotta de Bevilacqua. Featuring an aramid fiber coating, this multifunctional cable serves simultaneously as an electrical conductor and a structural element of the entire system: it distributes power to all connected light sources while providing mechanical support, withstanding a range of tensile forces and thermal stress. Its IP20 rating makes it suitable exclusively for indoor use.
The cable embodies the mountaineering and modular spirit of the Funivia system: no cutting is required, as the kit includes dedicated clips that allow the length to be shortened at will, adapting effortlessly to any spatial configuration. It is available in three lengths — 5, 10 and 20 metres — and in three colours: Black, White and Red, ensuring a seamless integration with any interior aesthetic. This versatility makes it ideal for installations in showrooms, commercial spaces, conference rooms and offices, as well as in contemporary residences of any size. The Funivia system breaks away from conventional lighting schemes, embracing sustainable principles throughout the entire chain: from production and distribution to installation and everyday use.

I would like to know if the cable can be cut and whether it always needs to be mounted between two walls in order to remain under tension. I would also like to know if the installation is easy and can be done by a layperson, or if it requires a professional.
Hi,
the cable can be cut, and it must be installed between two walls or fixed supports to keep it taut. Installation is fairly simple and doesn't require any special knowledge.
