BIG is a group of architects, designers and thinkers working in the fields of architecture, urban planning, research and development with offices in Copenhagen and New York City. BIG has created a reputation for completing buildings with innovative programming and techniques as they have awareness
costs and resources. In our architectural production, we demonstrate a high sensitivity to the particular needs of the site, the context and the program. Projects recently completed by BIG include the Danish Maritime Museum (2013), Superkilen (2012), the 8 House (2010) in addition to our first project of Copenhagen Harbor Bath (2003), an urban space that transformed the area of Islands Brygge from a dilapidated harborfront to the city's social and recreation center. Current projects under construction are: West 57th, a 750-unit residential building in Manhattan; the Vancouver House Tower in Vancouver; the LEGO Brand House in Denmark; the Education Center of the Faroe Islands; the Shenzhen Energy Mansion in China and the Copenhagen Waste-to-Energy Plant with a rooftop ski slope.
